Asian Games Indian Men and Women Cricket Team Schedule 2023: Complete Match Schedule, squads and Fixtures


Asian Games which is known as "Asiad" are coming back .The Asian Games is a multi-sport event held every four years, and is the second largest sporting event in the world after the Olympics. This year's Asian Games will be organized in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8.

This year Cricket will be returning to the field of Asian Games after five years .Cricket was part of the 2010 Guangzhou and 2014 Incheon Asian Games but was dropped from the continental multi-sport event at Jakarta 2018. In both Asian games Indian Cricket Team didn't participate in the event but this time Team India will be the part of event.


The addition of cricket in the Asian Games is a major boost for the sport. Cricket is already the most popular sport in India, and is also popular in other Asian countries such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh but some countries are not interested in it. This inclusion helps cricket to popularize itself all over the Asia.

In Asian Games 2023 Cricket will be played in the T20 format. Both men and women team will participate in upcoming edition.




Men's Cricket Events in Asian Games

In men's cricket event 15 team participate which starts from 27 September. The bronze and gold medal matches will be played on October 7. The four top ranked teams - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are directly enters to the quarter-finals while the remaining 11 will start from the group stage. Winners teams of groups will meet top ranked teams in Quarter Finals.

Women's Cricket Events in Asian Games

The women’s tournament, meanwhile, will run from September 19 to 25. A total of eight teams will compete for medals at Hangzhou 2023. Same as the men’s tournament, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will direct enters into the quarter-finals. The remaining four have been drawn into two groups. After round-robin matches and a quarter-final qualifier, the fixtures for the top eight will be set.

The Indian women's cricket team is also one of the best in the world, and is ranked fourth in the ICC T20I rankings.

Last year Indian Women Team participate in Commonwealth Games and bagged silver medal as runner up.

The venue for all matches, both men’s and women’s, will be the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field.
